Today, in International Affairs and Globalization class with Professor Denise Horn @ NEU, we took a look at the Armenian Genecide through a video that I believe was either produced by BBC or CBS. Regardless, I found a video with some of the same clips on youtube and posted it to my Facebook account. A friend of mine who moved to the US from Turkey a mere two months ago was displeased by my post and sent me a link to a Turkish video about the "war" between the Armenian's and Turks. I find her argument quite interesting and realized that this issue was not worth arguing over, who am I to say I know exactly what happened anyways?
I am relieved that in the United States we have substantial acces to multinational, multimedia outlets that allow us to find information that goes beyond what we're taught in our government regulated school curriculums. We have the opportunity to seek out and access information and come to our own conclusions without fear of persecution.
